HINDI......

60 yrs of independence.. but we ever got mentally free. .if we look at the situation .. whether it was pre independence or post independence period.. our priorities,our way of living have always revolved around foreign culture.. in first 30 yrs..around brtish and now around american culture!!!

English ( a language which is not even 10% sofphisticated as sanskrit or hindi ).. reigning over the minds of so called YO people. this surely underlines indifferent condition of our independence too .. you can easily find ppl .. who will talk in english .. even if it is not required.. ( c'mmon yaar .. it marks our intelligence..isn't it??? ) ... ppl saying... "are yaar meri to hindi ho gayee"( by this they mean .. they felt ashamed of sthing) .. y to search with a torch in hand...just switch on TV and listen to your fav .. actors/ actresses from HINDI CINEMA ( oops.. sry i shld have said "BOLLYWOOD" ).. they will answer in ENGLISH only , does not matter in which language they have been questioned...

you must be wondering why this blog has been written in english ??? isn't it??the answer is simple .. this is for persons.. who cant think in hindi ... ( or they dont like to , or feel ashamed of doing so)so if u want to make them introspect ... english is the obvious choice.. isn't it... ???

( For those who interpret it as .. me against progress... its not like that .. c'mmon.. learning and knowing about some other culture and language is OK ... but what if we forget ours???? )

What do you say? ******************************** I spent almost more than an hour on deciding what to write... several things came in my mind ... my childhood,college,17-Sunrise Appt. ... My friends goyal,uddy,bebo.... Then I came across this poem from DALJIT NAGRA. I read it and liked it...But it was after an hour or so .. I tried to think about the meaning...I got my own meaning. Suddenly I became curious about what other people may interpret .. What can be be their story attached to it..... You all people read it... very few people comment ;) ... what about contributing this time....??? :) The tree my father grew from his garden I take an axe and branch by branch I break the tree and set to work the million maddened bits, the fire of night. Only ash I keep.

I generally don't read forwarded mails,but this one ( From Chachajaan AKA Ashish Gupta ) was really eye opening, so posting that here....
